Equatorial’s Campsites and Lodging

Equatorial Safaris is a full service travel company specializing in safaris, Kilimanjaro climbs, cultural and religious tours, biking tours and treks. Besides organizing these tours we also own a number of properties throughout the popular tourist areas. While we are happy to book rooms at the high end luxury safari camps, lodges and hotels, if our clients desire, others are interested in staying at more intimate, rustic settings. Not only do these places allow visitors to be closer to nature and local communities, they also save a significant amount of money on the overall cost of the safari because we fully own each property. We maintain strict control over the properties to ensure that our clients are fully satisfied with their stay. We are also happy to welcome independent travelers and overland tourist buses to stay at our larger camps.

Our properties include:

  • Entering the Gated Grounds of the Guesthouse

Arusha Guesthouse – This house is located in a neighborhood in Arusha. The house sleeps six and a cook is provided with your stay. The property is secured by a large wall around the property and another gate around the yard of the house. Our safari vehicles also park in this large compound so there is opportunity for you to be taken into the city for dinner or shopping. This is a popular place for our clients to stay before and after safari if they want to stay out of the city center. Perfect for families or small groups of friends.

  • Deluxe tent at Kiboko Bushcamp

Kiboko Bush Camp – This camp is located near Lake Manyara and is an easy drive from Tarangire and Ngorongoro. It is in a lovely location full of birds and monkeys. We have a full restaurant and bar, plus lovely large permanent tents with bathrooms ensuite. For those on a budget, we have smaller tents in the “Camper’s Paradise” section of the camp with a large shared bathroom/toilet area. Spots are available for those tourists traveling independently and who want to pitch their own tents or sleep in their trucks.

Ngari Campsite - Ngari campsite is a campsite with six Chagga-style huts, a small lodge, a manicured area for tent camping and a full restaurant and bar. It makes a perfect place to stay before and after a climb up Kilimanjaro.
